Accessibility Policy

BPAMS is committed to promoting equal access, digital accessibility and inclusive experience. This Accessibility Policy describes how we design, develop, and maintain our services to accommodate users with disabilities and improve accessibility for everyone.

Last Updated: June 15, 2026

1. INTRODUCTION

The Universal Assembly of BCS Priesthood (UABCSP) is committed to ensuring that the BCS Priesthood Administration & Management System (BPAMS) is accessible, usable, and inclusive for all users, including people with disabilities.

2. OUR COMMITMENT

We are committed to providing an inclusive digital environment; designing BPAMS to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust; continuously improving accessibility; responding to accessibility feedback; and complying with applicable accessibility laws and standards.

3. APPLICABLE STANDARDS

BPAMS aims to conform with: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA; WCAG 2.2 (where applicable); EN 301 549; Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act; Nigeria Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act; and other applicable accessibility regulations.

4. ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES

BPAMS is designed to support keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, proper heading structure, alternative text for meaningful images, sufficient colour contrast, scalable text and responsive design, accessible forms and error messages, assistive technologies, and visible focus indicators for interactive elements.

5. ACCESSIBLE CONTENT PRINCIPLES

Content published through BPAMS uses clear language, structured information with headings and lists, provides text alternatives for non-text content, does not relying solely on colour to convey meaning, and ensures multimedia includes captions or transcripts where appropriate.

6. TESTING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

We periodically review accessibility through automated accessibility testing, manual keyboard testing, screen reader testing where feasible, user feedback, and issue reporting.

7. KNOWN LIMITATIONS

While we strive for broad accessibility, some legacy content or third-party services may not fully meet accessibility standards. We will work to improve these areas over time.

8. REQUESTING ACCESSIBILITY ASSISTANCE

Users who experience accessibility barriers may contact us for assistance or request information in alternative formats where reasonably practicable.

9. POLICY GOVERNANCE

This Accessibility Policy applies to the BPAMS Web, Mobile, Registry/Database, and related digital services operated by UABCSP.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Accessibility Policy periodically. Updated versions will be published through BPAMS or other official communication channels.
