Terms of Service

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before accessing or using the BCS Priesthood Administration & Management System (BPAMS). These Terms contain important information regarding your rights and obligations, limitations of liability, dispute resolution procedures, intellectual property rights, and your responsibilities as a user of the Platform.

For the purposes of these Terms, the words "BPAMS," "we," "our," and "us" refer to the BCS Priesthood Administration & Management System, which is operated, administered, and managed by the Universal Assembly of BCS Priesthood (UABCSP) under the authority and supervision of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS).

1. Introduction

1.1. The BCS Priesthood Administration & Management System (BPAMS) is an official digital platform developed to facilitate the administration, management, communication, documentation, recordkeeping, financial administration, and operational activities of the Universal Assembly of BCS Priesthood (UABCSP).

1.2. BPAMS may consist of one or more mobile applications, web portals, databases, digital registries, communication systems, document repositories, and related services collectively referred to as the "Platform" or "Services."

1.3. Access to and use of BPAMS is governed by these Terms and Conditions and any applicable policies published by UABCSP from time to time.

2. Acceptance of Terms

2.1. By accessing, downloading, installing, registering for, or otherwise using BPAMS, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2.2. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue all use of BPAMS.

2.3. Continued use of BPAMS constitutes ongoing acceptance of these Terms and any amendments subsequently made thereto.

3. Eligibility

3.1. BPAMS is intended exclusively for duly recognized, registered, verified and approved members of the BCS Priesthood, including both Posted and Non-Posted Priests.

3.2. Unauthorized access or use by any individual, organization, or entity not expressly authorized by UABCSP is strictly prohibited.

3.3. By accessing BPAMS, you represent and warrant that:

  • You possess the legal capacity and authority required to accept these Terms;
  • All information provided by you is accurate and complete;
  • Your use of BPAMS complies with all applicable laws, regulations, organizational directives, and these Terms.

3.4. The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of sixteen (16) years.

4. Account Registration and Profile Management

4.1. Access to certain features of BPAMS requires the creation and maintenance of a user account ("Profile").

4.2. By registering an account, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful, complete, and accurate information;
  • Maintain current and up-to-date account information;
  • Protect your login credentials and authentication information;
  • Maintain password confidentiality;
  • Immediately notify BPAMS Administrators of any unauthorized access, device loss, compromise, or suspected security breach.

4.3. You remain solely responsible for all activities conducted under your account and on devices associated with your access credentials.

4.4. UABCSP reserves the right to verify user identities and request supporting documentation where necessary.

4.5. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, blacklist, restrict, or terminate any account where:

  • Information supplied is inaccurate or misleading;
  • Fraudulent activity is suspected;
  • Impersonation is detected;
  • Security concerns arise;
  • Any provision of these Terms is violated.

5. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

5.1. While accessing and using BPAMS, users shall:

  • Use the Platform lawfully and responsibly;
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, directives, and organizational requirements;
  • Maintain the accuracy of information submitted to the Platform;
  • Respect the confidentiality of information accessed through BPAMS;
  • Conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times.

5.2. Users shall not:

  • Impersonate any individual or entity;
  • Access information belonging to another person without authorization;
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, malware, harmful code, or corrupted data;
  • Circumvent security controls or authentication mechanisms;
  • Access unauthorized records or restricted resources;
  • Interfere with system operations or platform functionality;
  • Attempt unauthorized extraction, harvesting, collection, copying, or downloading of data;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Platform;
  • Conduct penetration testing or security assessments without prior written authorization;
  • Attempt privilege escalation or unauthorized administrative access;
  • Publish, transmit, upload, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive, discriminatory, misleading, fraudulent, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.

5.3. Violation of Section 5.2 may result in immediate suspension, blacklisting, termination of access, and/or legal action.

6. Priesthood Records and Administrative Authority

6.1. BPAMS functions as an official digital registry and record management system for the BCS Priesthood.

6.2. Users acknowledge and agree that:

  • Account information, priesthood profiles, service records, and posting histories may be retained permanently;
  • Appointment records, administrative assignments, and service histories may be preserved indefinitely;
  • Administrative actions, approvals, appointments, transfers, postings, and related decisions remain subject to the authority and final directives of the leadership of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and the UABCSP.

6.3. Records maintained within BPAMS may serve as official organizational records.

7. Levies, Payments, and Financial Transactions

7.1. UABCSP may periodically assign levies, dues, contributions, assessments, or other financial obligations through BPAMS.

7.2. Users acknowledge that:

  • Financial obligations are subject to administrative directives issued by the UABCSP and BCS;
  • Payment confirmations may require administrative verification and third-party validation;
  • Transaction records may be reviewed, verified, audited, and investigated internally or externally where necessary;
  • Submission of payment evidence does not automatically constitute payment approval.

7.3. Users remain responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all payment receipts submitted through the Platform.

8. Events, Bulletins, Publications, and E-Library

8.1. BPAMS may provide access to organizational events, announcements, bulletins, circulars, publications, educational materials, digital archives, and electronic library resources.

8.2. Such content is provided solely for authorized organizational purposes.

8.3. Users shall not:

  • Reproduce protected content without authorization;
  • Distribute confidential documents or publications without authorization;
  • Modify official publications or communications;
  • Misrepresent organizational communications or directives;
  • Remove copyright notices, ownership notices, or attribution information.

9. Complaint Management

9.1. BPAMS may provide mechanisms for submitting complaints, reports, petitions, grievances, or administrative concerns.

9.2. Users submitting complaints warrant that:

  • Information submitted is true, complete, and accurate to the best of their knowledge;
  • They are acting in good faith;
  • They understand that knowingly providing false information is prohibited.

9.3. Users acknowledge that:

  • Investigations may be conducted internally, externally, and confidentially;
  • Administrative responses may remain confidential;
  • Decisions and resolutions reached after due administrative review shall be final; and any further appeal shall only be entertained through official writing/correspondence addressed (in a sealed envelope) to the Office of the President General, UABCSP, BCS WHQ, 34 Ambo Street, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, or emailed to: admin@uabcsp.com and adminsec@uabcsp.com.

10. Third-Party Services and External Links

10.1. BPAMS may contain links to our partners or other BCS websites, service providers, or external resources.

10.2. Such links are provided solely for convenience and do not constitute endorsement or approval.

10.3. UABCSP does not control or assume responsibility for the content, policies, security, availability, or operations of third-party services.

10.4. Users access such services at their own risk and remain subject to the applicable terms and conditions of those third parties.

11. Intellectual Property Rights

11.1. All rights, titles interest in and to BPAMS, including but not limited to:

  • Software and source code;
  • Databases and registries;
  • Logos, branding, themes, and trademarks;
  • Graphics, designs, layouts, and interfaces;
  • Documentation and publications;
  • Content and communications;
  • Digital assets and associated intellectual property;

remain the exclusive property of the UABCSP and the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS).

11.2. Nothing in these Terms grants users ownership rights in any part of BPAMS.

11.3. Users may access Platform content solely for authorized, personal, non-commercial organizational purposes.

12. System Availability

12.1. BPAMS is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis.

12.2. Platform availability may be affected by:

  • Scheduled maintenance;
  • Security updates;
  • Network interruptions;
  • Internet service provider failures;
  • User-induced events;
  • Hardware or software failures;
  • Force majeure events;
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

12.3. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous, or error-free operation of the Platform.

13. Security

13.1. Security is a shared responsibility between BPAMS and its users.

13.2. Users agree to take reasonable measures to protect:

  • Their devices;
  • Login credentials;
  • Authentication information;
  • Sensitive organizational information.

13.3. Any attempt to compromise Platform security may result in immediate suspension, permanent blacklisting, civil liability, criminal prosecution, and other legal remedies.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BCS, UABCSP, BPAMS Administrators, Developers, Affiliates, Partners, Officers, Representatives, Agents, and Service Providers shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect damages;
  • Incidental damages;
  • Consequential damages;
  • Special damages;
  • Loss of data;
  • Loss of revenue;
  • Service interruptions;
  • Unauthorized third-party actions;
  • Technical failures beyond reasonable control.

14.2. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

15. Indemnification

15.1. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BCS, UABCSP, BPAMS Administrators, Developers, Affiliates, Officers, Agents, and Representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or legal fees arising out of:

  • Your use or misuse of BPAMS;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your negligence, errors, omissions, or misconduct;
  • Your violation of the rights of any third party or service provider.

16. Termination and Enforcement

16.1. UABCSP reserves the right to suspend, restrict, blacklist, or terminate access to BPAMS where users:

  • Violate these Terms;
  • Breach security requirements;
  • Misuse organizational resources;
  • Engage in fraudulent or deceptive activities;
  • Impersonate or attempt to impersonate other lawful users;
  • Conduct activities detrimental to the interests of UABCSP or BCS.

16.2. Such actions may be taken with or without prior notice where circumstances warrant.

16.3. Upon termination, all provisions intended to survive termination shall remain in force.

17. Waiver

17.1. Failure by UABCSP to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of any right or remedy.

17.2. Any waiver shall only be effective if made expressly and in writing.

18. Governing Law

18.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the jurisdiction in which UABCSP and BCS operate.

18.2. Where applicable, international privacy, data protection, and electronic communications regulations shall also be respected.

19. Dispute Resolution

19.1. Parties agree to first seek amicable resolution through internal organizational processes and administrative mechanisms of the UABCSP.

19.2. Where a dispute cannot be resolved internally by the UABCSP, the matter may be referred to the leadership of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star for proper redress.

20. Modifications to These Terms

20.1. UABCSP reserves the right to amend, revise, modify, or update these Terms at any time.

20.2. Amendments shall become effective immediately upon publication within BPAMS or through other official communication channels.

20.3. Continued use of BPAMS following such modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
